Greetings!

Hope this message finds everyone in good health and spirits! October 2016 is turning out to be a very busy Fall for IT professionals! NEW AITP is active in three events this October and I hope everyone will take time to attend each one of them.

Our October Chapter meeting is on Wednesday, October 12th at the Radisson Paper Valley in Appleton. Skyline Technologies will have a presentation on How Skyline Created the Mile of Music Festival App.

On October 13th, NEW AITP will host the Technology Hub Conference, in partnership with AITP – River Valley chapter, WIT and Amplify Oshkosh, also at the Radisson Paper Valley. Seating is limited and registration ends at midnight on Friday, October 7th. Attendance is discounted to $50 for AITP members and the conference’s partners. AITP and WIT students are discounted to $25. We have a great keynote with Kara Swisher (Wall Street Journal / All Things Digital), a CEO/CIO Breakfast Panel and over 15 great speaker sessions during the day on many varied topics. Check out http://www.techhubwi.com for conference information and registration. Please support NEW AITP with your attendance! Again, the registration deadline is midnight, October 7th!

NEW AITP is also hosting the Fall 2016 Region 5 Board and Leadership meetings at the Radisson Paper Valley in Appleton on October 14th at 8:30 am.  Attendance is free and all AITP members are welcome to attend. This is a perfect opportunity to see your Region 5 representatives in action!

As Americans, in order to make changes in how our country, our states, and our local governments perform we must be involved in our futures. For some, that can be as minimal as paying taxes and for others, they strive to be a part of leadership in the hope that they can affect positive outcomes for the views and beliefs of themselves and others. Much of this happens through being involved and being a volunteer. I urge you to be involved in the National election(s) by doing your research, placing your vote and volunteering where it suits you. And I urge you to be involved in AITP. The AITP events of October happen through the efforts of your elected leaders, volunteers and the business relationships we all hold within our communities and they exist to bring value to you, the AITP member.

NEW AITP, Region 5, and AITP National have elections for board members and policy changes this Fall. Please make sure you are involved in the organization by doing your research, sharing your beliefs and voting to affect positive outcomes for you and your fellow AITP members. Volunteering is a significant contribution to the organization! At NEW AITP, we are “The Network That Supports You!” because we each work to support each other in personal, educational and professional growth.

Election candidates will be announced soon. This is a last call for you to nominate yourself or someone else for the NEW AITP Board of Directors. Please contact a board member if interested.
