January 2017 President’s Message

Happy New Year, Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and that everyone is looking forward to a great 2017 with NEW AITP!

And yes, I’m back! Dustin White and Mark Ruhland were added to the NEW Board of Directors for the 2017 calendar year and most positions were assigned during the December NEW BoD meeting. We still have a couple of seats to finalize, but I can tell you that your officers for 2017 are:  Jay Esty – President; Chris Nimmer – Vice President; Steve Gilsdorf – Treasurer; Derek Schauland – Secretary and Eric Stacey as Region Director. We’ll send out an update after the January 17th NEW BoD meeting detailing all of the director positions after they remaining seats have been finalized.

With the beginning of the new year there is a lot of work to be done. You’ll note in the newsletter requests to fill in your IPA forms and nominations for 2016 Member of the Year, but in addition, this month I want to focus on committees. Our chapter encourages our chapter members to participate in our various committees by offering a couple of hours of your time a month to one or more committees. Whether it is our primary committees like Programs, Events, Publicity, Sponsorship or Membership, or other committees like Technology Hub 2017, Bylaws and Awards, to name a few, NEW AITP can use your minds, hearts, and physical presence in providing help, advice, direction, resources and volunteer effort to help our chapter continue to be a great chapter. If interested, please contact a board member, or attend a NEW Board of Directors meeting to see where you can help. NEW Board Meetings start 90 minutes before Chapter Meetings and all chapter members are welcome to attend.

We have a lot of exciting things coming your way in 2017 – so please stay informed, keep your membership up-to-date and participate in making NEW AITP the “Network that Supports You!”

Looking forward to a great year!

— Jay Esty, 2017 President
